Cape Verde (Portuguese: Cabo Verde) is a small island nation located in the Atlantic Ocean, more than 600 km off the coast of Senegal—the westernmost point of Africa. The archipelago consists of ten islands.

Situated at the crossroads of Europe, Africa, and South America, Cape Verde embodies the blended influences of these three continents, featuring a rich tapestry of racial and cultural diversity. An essential stopover for sailors before crossing to the Antilles or Brazil, each island offers a journey in itself—ranging from deserted beaches to volcanoes, and from colonial cities to lush valleys. Nine of the islands are inhabited. These subtle charms appeal equally to those seeking relaxation, hikers, and enthusiasts of fishing and diving.

To the north, the Windward Islands include Santo Antão, São Vicente, São Nicolao, Sal and Boa Vista.

To the south, Brava, Fogo and Maio form the Leeward Islands. The capital of Cape Verde is Praia.

Cape Verde—islands that are well worth more than just a passing glance! Experience Cape Verde as it truly is, and fall in love with this small nation nestled in the heart of the Atlantic Ocean.

Shaped by their natural riches and unique socio-historical trajectories, each island has forged its own distinct identity over the centuries. Virtually isolated from one another—and free of any sense of rivalry—the islands have sculpted their own individual personalities: from lush Santo Antão to cultural São Vicente, African-spirited Santiago, fiery Fogo, or even Boa Vista—a true sandy paradise! Thus, when you visit Cape Verde, you are essentially exploring not just one country, but several.

Soar above the islands for a tantalizing preview of your journey, and traverse landscapes that will take your breath away: from black volcanic rock to shimmering azure seas, from beaches of white or black sand to mountains cloaked in tropical vegetation... Each island possesses its own unique character.

Get to know an extraordinary people, discover the true meaning of "Morabeza"—that quintessential Cape Verdean sweetness of life—and, above all, make unforgettable connections!
